


Your curved semicicle route interferes with traffic on that side of the station going to, for example, Pittsburg. While for really heavy traffic each track at a 4 track large station would be serving traffic going to/from a different station, and when they got a little farther from the station each of those tracks would expand/contract to a double track to that different station.

While the other 2 tracks would handle trains to/from the other side of the station. AT most large stations I would only need/use 2 tracks going to/from one side of the station.
